Messiah performances are scheduled for Dec. 13 at Manotick United Church, 7:30 pm with choir call at 6:30 (tentative), and on Dec. 14 at St. James Anglican in Kemptville, 7:30, choir call 6:30 (tentative). A rehearsal with the orchestra is planned for Kemptville at St. James on Monday Dec 8th, and for Manotick on Friday Dec. 12. Stay tuned for definite times.
Dress Code for performances is:
Women - black ankle-length skirt, black long-sleeved blouse, black shoes. No large jewelry.
Men - black trousers, cumberbund, white long sleeved shirt, black bow tie, black shoes.
Music should be in a black binder or folder.
No perfumes or heavily-scented personal care products, please.
Water bottles may not be brought into the performance area (soloists excepted).
DO NOT walk through the orchestra area at any time!
Membership Fees
To avoid soliciting Choir members for music fees throughout the year, a modest membership fee has been implemented to cover the costs of music and other minor miscellaneous expenses. The music will become the property of the Choir. The fee amounts will be reviewed annually to take into account the cost of the music for the upcoming productions, and whether or not the music is already in the Choir’s possession.
If you want to optionally purchase additional music to keep for yourself, please talk to Sylvia.
Since many members perform only once a year, the membership fees will be semi-annual, and have been set at $20 Adults /$15 Students (16 yrs.+), due at the beginning of each season (Sept. and Jan.).
The Fall, 2008 fees will be collected during the first full Choir rehearsal in September. Also, each member (New and Existing) will be requested to complete a registration form.This will also enable the updating of Choir Membership Records.
